Someone Tries To Scam A Gaming Computer From This Guy, Gets Hilariously Trolled

There’s nothing more repulsive than scammers who try to trick people into giving away their money or valuable things– and the internet is full of them! Sadly, even though there are many warnings out there, some people are still falling for their elaborate lies, sometimes simply out of the goodness of their hearts. Scammers have long been known for coming up with the most tragic stories to make sympathetic folks open their wallets.

The good thing is that these thieves aren’t always very bright, which doesn’t get them very far. Take, for instance, this guy who texted a Reddit user ShankABee because he wanted to buy his gaming computer and created the dumbest excuse for why he can’t pay for it in cash. Luckily, the seller didn’t fall for his lies and decided to troll him. The conversation turned out to be hilarious and even went viral.

Scammers often get creative when it comes to trying to trick people out of their money, but this guy went over the top

Xander, who shared the funny conversation, told Bored Panda that it’s not the first time he’s dealing with the scammers online, “but it is the first time I decided to see where it would go,” he said. The computer seller said he knew something was off with this guy from the beginning. “I had suspicions right off the bat when he asked for pictures that were already on the ad”.

After trying to lower the price of a gaming computer, the guy gives the weirdest excuse on why he can’t pay in cash

Although the scammer’s lowballing attempt gave him some doubts, “typically they would offer more than the asking price,” he says, it all became clear when the buyer started making excuses for why he can’t pay in cash. “I honestly chuckled a bit that he was trying to say he had his account hacked so he couldn’t pay in cash.”

The seller quickly realizes what’s going on and decides to pretend he’s trying to help out the struggling stranger

That’s when the exchange gets a little too funny as the seller shows interest in his daughter and the buyer is prompted to make a request

Whether the part about his daughter is true remains unclear. Xander even did a couple of reverse image searches but he didn’t find anything. “Unfortunately, it seems like this guy was taking advantage of his (possibly) daughter.”

Yes, you’ve read that right! A free computer is not enough for this guy, he also wants $400 from the seller

While his computer remains up for sale( you can check out the listing here), Xander is happy that at least he could make people laugh. The scammer sent a clown emoji as his last reply to Xander, so he probably was amused by the exchange they had, too!

Eventually, the conversation goes full circle in the most hilarious way
