After conquering the pop music industry, Justin Bieber has had the luxury of testing his limits in other genres from R&B to hip-hop, and even a little bit of country. Most recently, he's found himself experimenting with Spanish-English crossover tracks. Despite some reservations however, Bieber may have struck gold, singing in Spanish for the first time on Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito Remix."

As the romantic strings of a guitar lead into the track, JB kicks off in English, singing of how his girl brightens up even the darkest of days. But as the bass drops, Justin joins the Latin pop kings to sing the chorus in Spanish. "Despacito. Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito / Deja que te diga coasas al oído / Para que te acuaerdes si no estás conmigo," he sings with raspy vocals.
"Despacito Remix" is definitely a win for Bieber, especially after he struck out in the Latin pop community after teaming up with J Balvin on the remix of his own No. 1 hit, "Sorry." Where Biebs possibly redeemed himself in the new remix is actually trying his hand at Spanish instead of conforming to the typical bilingual remix standards.

And this new formula definitely seems to be doing the trick. Since the single's release on YouTube, it has garnered more than 980 million views, making it YouTube's biggest debut in 2017. The original "Despacito" is also enjoying an 11-week streak at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs list, according to Billboard. Luis Fonsi attributes its success to the track's ability to "celebrate our Latin culture and who we are" through "movement, dancing, and rhythm engraved in my bones."
