This 99-Year-Old Woman Graduating From College Is All The Inspiration You Need Today

As graduation season continues, one college graduate is inspiring us all by getting her degree at the age of 99-years-old – proving it’s never too late for education.
Doreetha Daniels collected her associate’s degree in social sciences at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. With the help of her tutors and relatives, Daniels was able to stand at the podium Friday and receive her degree. Daniels says she was inspired by her grandchildren, and after getting bored of her hobbies, she said elevating her education was the right thing to do.

Daniels didn’t get through her journey easily. After struggling with computer literacy, she suffered a few strokes and even lost her driver’s license since starting her road to education in 2009. Despite the obstacles, she says she couldn’t give up on her dream. According to KTLA:
She was touted as “one of the most dedicated and hardworking students” in the statistics class, the college said in a news release. “Doreetha is resilient. She demonstrates grit,” said counselor Liz Shaker. “She inspires students.” Asked for advice to younger generations, Daniels said: “Don’t give up. Do it. Don’t let anybody discourage you. Say that, ‘I’m going to do it,’ and do it for yourself.”
Congrats to Daniels and her family for uplifting us all.
