The Grammys 2017 will be short of three stars in the form of Justin Bieber, Drake, and Kanye West. The three are reportedly boycotting the prestigious music awards show because the Grammys are no longer "relevant or representative."
There used to be a time when every musician dreams of being awarded the Grammy trophy. Many believe it would be the height of your success to clinch that award and raise that trophy by the end of the night. But these days, the Grammys are having a hard time getting their nominees to show up.
Grammys 2017: Why Are Justin, Drake, And Kanye Boycotting It?
According to a source, as reported by the MailOnline, Bieber plans to spend the day of the Grammys 2017 somewhere else. He felt that the awards show is no longer relevant and does not represent the young singers. Bieber is nominated for four awards.

Drake, 30, also has similar reasons with Bieber as to why he won't be able to make it to the show. Drake has eight nominations this year. Kanye, 39, indicated that he won't be coming to the award ceremony, too.
Though Bieber and Drake have similar reasons for boycotting the show, West's has racial overtones to it. Although West received 21 Grammy trophies in the past, he felt that he has never won it when he's pitted against a white artist.
Sources revealed that there's no "real anger" as to why the trio suddenly want to boycott the Grammys. They just believe that the awards committee is "out of touch."
Frank Ocean Is Boycotting It, Too?
In a way, Frank Ocean has decided very early on to boycott the Grammys. While Bieber, Drake, and West are nominated for different categories, Ocean didn't even bother to submit his new album, Blonde.
Many believe that Blonde was the best album of last year, and is bound to receive Grammy nods during the ceremony. But just like West, Ocean reportedly believes that the Grammys fail to represent black musicians.
During an interview with The New York Times, as quoted by MailOnline, Ocean said that the Grammys has a certain "nostalgic importance." "It just doesn't seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down."
He added that the awarding, nomination, and screening criteria are "dated." Since he did not submit his album, that means there'll be no nomination for Ocean. The musician said he would rather this be his Colin Kaepernick moment than sit there in the audience.
